Technical details

Description & composition

Freeze-dried live attenuated vaccine.
Avian Encephalomyelitis strain Calnek 1143: ≥ 10^2.5 EID50 per dose.
Fowl pox strain M-92: ≥ 10³ EID50 per dose.

Indication

Immunization of layer and breeder replacement pullets against AE and fowl pox.
Helps protect vaccinated birds from AE-related egg-production drop and provides maternal antibodies to protect chicks from vertical transmission and early farm infection.

Dosage & administration

1 dose per bird by wing-web puncture.
Vaccinate chickens at 8-16 weeks of age.

Main benefits

Two live antigens in one wing-web vaccination.
Supports maternal protection of hatched chicks against AE.
A nodule at the application site in approximately 10% of sampled vaccinated birds indicates a successful take according to the leaflet.

Storage

Store at 2-8°C in the dark.

Precautions

Vaccinate healthy birds only. Stress or immunosuppression may increase post-vaccination reaction.
Use each opened vial within two hours.
Do not vaccinate birds younger than 8 weeks or within four weeks before the onset of egg production.
